Cassandra Ann Jurkowski
August 4, 1942 – May 3, 2018
Cassandra “Cass” Jurkowski was born in Milwaukee ,Wisconsin on August 4, 1942 and died on May 3, 2018 at Munson Medical Center, after a long illness . She will be sadly missed and fondly remember by many friends. She was predeceased by her parents ,two brothers and several beloved Aunts and an uncle from Wisconsin. She is survived by her 85year old brother, Raymond ,of Wisconsin. Cass leaves behind a roommate and dear friend of 44 years, Dorothy Lark, as well as numerous friends. She was endeared by Dorothy’s six siblings and their families. After graduating from Nursing School in Mississippi, Cass enlisted in the Army Nurse Corp. She served in Vietnam during the war. After serving in the Army nurse corp for 12 years ,she left the service as a Major. She continued to practice nursing in many parts of the country. In 1985, she moved to Michigan where she continued her nursing career. She retired in 2012 from Shepherd of Hope clinic. Aside from her passion for nursing, Cass will be remembered as an excellent cook and a woman of strong faith. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s in Hannah on May 9, 2018 at 11a.m. Visitation is scheduled on Tuesday, May 8th from 6-8 p.m. at Covell funeral Home in Kingsley. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation in the form of Masses would be appreciated or Sacred Heart Mission, 6050 Highway 161N, Walls,Mississippi 38686.
