Francis "Jake" Oscar Sedlacek

Francis “Jake” Oscar Sedlacek of Kingsley passed away Nov. 18, 2020 at Munson Hospice House. Jake was born in Kingsley on June 23, 1933 to Rudolph and Anne Sedlacek. He graduated from Kingsley High School in 1952, and went on to obtain his liberal arts degree. Upon graduation, he served the in the US Army from 1954-1962. He married his wife Thelma (Stein) in June of 1974, and the couple made Kingsley their home. Jake was employed as a master electrician with General Motors, retiring in 1994 after 33 years of service. Jake enjoyed working outside on his lawn and gardening as well as woodworking and building with his hands. In his earlier days, he also liked to hunt and fish. He is survived by his granddaughter Sara (Roland) St. Amand, and great grandchildren; Aaron, Jonathan, Elizabeth as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife Thelma who passed away in June of this year, he is preceded by both parents, brothers; Ray, William, Edwin, Joseph, Henry and Rudolph, sisters Vlasta and Anne, and stepson George Poncar. A family visitation will take place on Tuesday, 24th from 11:00 to 1:00 pm at the Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley, with burial to be held immediately following at Down Cemetery in Buckley.
