

Grace graduated from Kingsley High School in 1965. She graduated from Montcalm Community College with a registered nursing degree in 1987.
Grace’s work history included tenures at Traverse City Regional Psychiatric Hospital, Newberry Regional Psychiatric Hospital, The Veterans Facility in Grand Rapids and Riverside Correctional Facility in Ionia, from which she retired. Upon retirement she relocated to Traverse City where she has since resided.
Grace enjoyed volunteering at Munson Medical Center and at Traverse Bay United Methodist and Bay Pointe Community Churches after retirement from nursing. Grace was a member of Bay Pointe Church.
Grace was fond of reading, painting with oils, yard sales with her sisters, bible study, and traveling. She loved spending time with her family.
Her son Michael Allen Christiansen of Traverse City and granddaughter Tiffany Christiansen of Chicago, Il, of whom she was so proud, survive Grace. Brothers Duane (Gay) Travis, William (Yvonne) Travis of Kingsley; sisters Phyllis (Donald) Hofmeister of Palm Springs, Ca and Patricia (Gary) Kroupa of Interlochen also survive, as well as 8 nieces, nephews and their children and a special cousin Barbara Travis. Grace’s church family and friends were very important to her, as well.
Her parents and an infant daughter, Kathie Ann, predeceased Grace.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Bay Pointe Community Church, 6880 Secor Road, Traverse City on Monday, December 2 at 10:30 a.m.
