

Helena E. Hudson, age 89, of Kingsley, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Munson Medical Center. She was born July 14, 1923 to Carl and Marie (Thomsen) Besemer. On April 11, 1942 she married the late Ralph Hudson in Walnut Grove, Missouri. Together they raised 12 children.
Helena loved to garden especially flowers. She loved to watch the birds from her window. She also enjoyed reading and painting ceramics. Family was very important to Helena, she always looked forward to spending time with them and cherished the memories she made with them.
She will be greatly missed by 12 children: Carol (Gerald) Clous of Buckley, Joyce Strong of Republic, James (Sandra) Hudson of Kingsley, Edward (Linda) Hudson of Cadillac, Ellen (Glen) Kirkpatrick of Kingsley, Pete Hudson of Grawn, Sandra (Floyd) Taylor of Boon, Ronald (Connie) Hudson of Paris, Terry (Dona) Hudson of Kingsley, Gary (Tammy) Hudson of Kalamazoo, Nancy (Alan) Mohler of Manton, and Arthur (Rhonda Howard) Hudson of Traverse City; 32 Grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Esther O’Neil and Rosella Nichols; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents, Helena was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, son Albert Hudson, and 16 siblings; son-in-law Thomas Strong; a granddaughter, a great grandson, and a great great grandson.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. at the Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley. A funeral will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 11 am also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley.
