February 11, 1922May 13, 2020

Irene Ergonis, 98, of Kingsley, MI passed away Wednesday, May 13th, at MediLodge of Traverse City, MI with family at her side. Irene was born February 11th, 1922 in Detroit, MI to Hedwig and Martin Orlowski. She retired from General Motors after 30 years. Her faith in the Catholic Church was very important in her life and on weekends she could be found praising the Lord with her friends at St. Mary’s of Hannah where some would say she was the “best dressed”. In her early years, Irene enjoyed bowling, attending ceramics, and of course shopping. She is survived by daughter Joann Wolf and son Richard Ergonis as well as grand children Dawn Koszyk (Troy Wilson), Wendy Whitfield, Kim Koszyk, Cindy (Mike) Dady, Pam (Kyle) Morgan and Christina Ergonis. Irene also has numerous great and great great grand children. Irene was preceded in death by husband Anthony Ergonis, daughter Diane Whitfield, brothers Eddie, Ted, Martin, and sister Stella. We also can’t forget Brian Wolf her son-in-law. Her family would like to thank all the nurses at MediLodge of Traverse City for their care and compassion. Arrangements are in the care of Covell Funeral Home of Kingsley.

When I was a little girl I remember going over to your house and being in awe of all your nice clothes and the many shoes you had - you were always such a nice dresser. When you babysat Cindy and I we would watch Lawrence Welk with you. You will be greatly missed. I’m so glad I got to visit you at least one last time. Thank you for telling me about Grandpa - it makes me smile to think of the two of you finally together again. Give mom a hug for me - I’m sure you both have talked each others head off by now. Love you to infinity and beyond.

Remembering my grandmother Irene as a kind and loving soul. ❤️

All of the many trips to visit grandma Irene. Watching for black squirrels together. I will never forget the sound of her voice, it was so uniquely hers. Fond memories are all I have of being together. The love that grandma Irene shared with me was consistent and unconditional. I only wish we had more time together.

My heart is with my family. Auntie Joann, dad, cousins, sending you all so much love!!
