

Mabel was born in Mancelona on Nov. 12, 1918, the fourth daughter of the late George Henry and Mamie Edith (Shriner) Wardell.
Mabel was village clerk of Mancelona from 1959 to 1964.
She was a lifelong member of the Free Methodist Church and a pastor's wife.
She enjoyed gardening and canning and worked alongside her husband, Charles, constructing their retirement home in Kingsley.
Mabel is survived by her husband, Charles E. Dickinson, of Kingsley; three sons, Roger (Marcia) Dickinson, of Central Lake, Terry (Marjorie) Dickinson, of Kingsley, and Richard (MaryAlice) Dickinson, of Broadus, Mont.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Clara Wardell, Beatrice McWaters, Tessie Darnell and Maxine Ouvry.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley, with visitation starting at 1 p.m.
