Michael A. Newman

Michael A. “Big Mike” Newman 61, of Buckley died unexpectedly on Sunday May 22, 2011 at his home. He was born on October 1, 1949 in Chicago, IL the son of William and Margaret (O’Hannsey) Newman Michael married Joyce Weber on December 3, 1971 Traverse City , she preceded him in death two months earlier. He retired from the state of Michigan as a Prison Guard at Camp Pugsley in 2002. Michael enjoyed camping, fishing, music, traveling, and old cars. He truly loved his family, grandchildren, and friends. Michael is survived by his children; Angela ( Ronald) Spellman of Buckley, Michael L. (Tara) Newman of Buckley, Justin (Heather) Newman of Kingsley, Star Newman of Mayfield, Jeff (Kelly) Heimforth of Interlochen, and Caleb Fehrenbach of Buckley, 16 grandchildren, His brothers and sisters; Joyce Ostrowski, Kenneth Newman, Frank (Laurie) Newman, Kathy (Lou) Hendges , and Cindy Newman, an numerous nieces ,nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce Newman March 20, 2011. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday June 2, 2011 at 11 am from Covell Funeral Home, Kingsley, with visitation one hour prior. Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home, Kingsley.
