Dear Dan, Daughters, Barb and everyone who loved Rita,
I send my most sincere condolences to all of you on the loss of dear Rita. She was a gem-- a great wife, mom and sister, and a friend to all of us who knew her. She had such a good heart. Loved hearing her giggle and can still hear her voice. Our days together at St Mary Hannah were filled with many good things and made for fond memories. Our lives diverged after we graduated but we'd still see each other at various times, like at the Chicken Dinner or just random connections.

I am so grateful for our time together on the committee to plan our 50th Reunion of the last four graduating classes at Hannah. That committee included Lorraine too, and I felt that we had the chance to become closer friends and experience each other as adults. What a blessing those meetings were, as was the whole evening of the Reunion! Rita and Lorraine added so much thought and creativity to our plans ... and hard work to pull it off so successfully. One added memory for me is that we had our first meeting (I think) at Rita and Dan's house. I loved seeing all the antiques and creativity and such personal touches. Of course Rita had a yummy dessert made for us too. Just an example of that caring heart.

I'm sorry due to the circumstances of the times we're in right now, that I won't be with you all at the funeral. I would have loved to be there ... I will in prayer and spirit. May Rita now rest in peace in the loving arms of our Lord. She and all of you will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Sent with love and admiration,
