May 30, 1945January 12, 2021

Rose Ann Quast, age 75 of Mesick, died unexpectedly January 12, 2021 at Munson Medical Center with her loving husband by her side. Rose Ann was born May 30, 1945 in Grant Twp., MI to Theodore and Jennie (Brininstool) Erickson. She attended Grant Center Hill county school being the only student in the 8th grade, and then went on to attend Big Rapids High School graduating in 1963. On February 29, 1964 in Big Rapids, she married Raymond Quast.

Rose Ann worked alongside her husband at their “Friendship Farms” dairy farm as well as packed lunches for workers at Elmer’s for several years. She also worked at Schelde’s restaurant as a prep cook until she retired when she was 62 years old.

Rose Ann enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had a special friendship with a group of 4 friends lovingly referred to as “Twisted Sisters” and belonged to several quilting groups. She also enjoyed sewing, making quilts and blankets for children, gardening, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and going to yard sales with Raymond. She was a very easy going individual, but was also not afraid to hold her own if necessary.

Besides her husband of 56 years, Raymond, she is survived by her son Paul and daughter Christine Quast. Also surviving are grandchildren Matthew, Ariel Ann, Melody; 3 great-grandchildren, sister Beverly Erickson and brother Larry Erickson. She is preceded by both parents, brothers Theodore “Jr” and LaVail Erickson, and sister Nancy Homister.

Cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the St. Jude Foundation.

This is heartbreaking. RoseAnn was a lovely lady, with beautiful smile and contagious laugh. I will never forget her selfless time, coordinating school fund raisers for the end goal of our Senior trip, as well as fun times with Chris outside of school. Thoughts and prayers to Quasts......heaven gained an angel.

I have many great memories when Aunt Rose Ann and Uncle Raymond lived on US-10. I loved helping with chores and getting the cows ready to be milked. At the end of the day, we’d go swimming in the creek along the road. We’d also listen for the train to roll by their house and put pennies on the railroad tracks. I loved coming to their farm in Buckley too! It sure was easier milking the cows there. I’m thankful for so many wonderful memories! Love and prayers to Uncle Raymond, Chris, Paul, and family! Rest In Peace Aunt Rose Ann!❤️ David, Yvonne and family

Ray, Paul, Christine and Family,
Rose Ann was always kind and fun to be around. My Mom and Dad thought the world of all of you. It has been years, but I miss those friendships from my younger years. My Prayer are with all of you.

Rose Ann has felt like family to me since I was a kid living just down the road. Whether I was riding around with Paul in her mustang or helping chris around the farm, I always felt welcome at her home. Friday nights were “pizza night” and I still like to reminisce about hanging out with the Quasts on those evenings where working hard all week were rewarded with fun, laughter and togetherness. My heartfelt condolences to Ray, Paul, Chris and the whole family for their loss.
