
Ada Shupe Rhoton, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 23, 2012, in the Holston Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Rhoton was a Lee County Virginia native and the daughter of the late Emmett Jessee and Esther Johnston Shupe. She was a homemaker and a member of Victory Baptist Church of Kingsport. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Malcolm Rhoton; sisters: Ruby Eudaley, Nola Hoskins, Cliva Shupe, Wilma Jean Shupe, Mae Lawson, Ruth Ellen Wells and Faye Shupe Caudill; brothers: E.J. Shupe, Herman Shupe and Charles Shupe along with a great grandson, Dustin Lawson.
Survivors include: daughter, Eula Carolyn Allen, Kingsport, TN; son, Emmett Douglas Rhoton and wife Diana, Nickelsville, VA ; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters: Inez Dorton, Jasper, VA, and Mary Helen Sutton and husband Roy, of Alabama; brothers: Eugene Shupe and wife Willhite of Duffield, VA, Harold Shupe and wife Della of Rockville, Maryland and Bobby C. Shupe and wife Judy of Fall Branch, TN.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Victory Baptist Church, Kingsport. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Morelock and Pastor David Newland, officiating. Interment will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2012,
at 2:00 p.m. in East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael Rhoton, Kenny Woods, Hank Jennings, Doug Rhoton, Rufus Jennings, Christopher Rhoton, Gary Arnold and Tim Arnold. Everyone is asked to assemble at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m. for the service.
