Barbara Jean Hobbs

B. Jean (Cox) Hobbs, 78 passed away peacefully after an extended illness on Jan 7th, 2024 at home. She was born on May 22nd, 1945 in Kingsport, TN to Woodrow Wilson Cox & Elsie Mae (Deel) Cox. She married J.E. Hobbs on September 23rd, 1963 in Weber City, Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, & her brother Jack Cox.

She is survived by her Three children Debbie Patterson (Tony), Sharon Hobbs, Michael Hobbs (Angel)

Three Grandchildren, Jerod Upchurch, Chrissy Brown (Aaron), Brad Hobbs

Five Great grandchildren, Cole Brown, Emma, Remi, Clay Upchurch, Mason Hobbs

Sister Joyce Prior, Cousin Linda Kidd + Many other friends and extended family.

Jean loved taking care of her late husband J.E., she had a passion for baking and making candy for everyone, so much so, she had her own candy store “The Candy Corner” in the 80’s. Her favorite place to be was the beach. Everyone who knew her loved her.

The family would like to say a special Thank you to Amedysis Hospice.
