She was born in Kingsport on December 1, 1957, to Kathleen (Bean) and Stanley Dishner. A student of both Northeast State Community College and the University of Tennessee, Barbara valued learning. She was a homemaker, a voracious reader, and a lover of hummingbirds. Bays Mountain Park was her favorite place on Earth.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Tiffany Peters; daughter Audrey Peters and son-in-law Matt Bingham; grandson Caleb Stout; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Mary Tyson, and her husband, Johnny Peters, who looked at her like the sun shone out of her eyes.
There will be no memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School of Chamberlain, SD, at stjo.org.
East Lawn Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Barbara Ann Dishner Peters.
