

Mrs. Barbara Sue Strickler, 76, of Gray, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at her residence. Born on August 20, 1938 in Kingsport, she was the daughter of the late Perry David Wagner and Annie Mae Overbay Wagner.
Mrs. Strickler worked for Eastman Chemical for 22 years. She loved her vegetable gardening and especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
In addition to her parents, Perry David Wagner and Annie Mae Overbay Wagner, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Lynn Strickler and her brother, Guy “Babe” Wagner. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Thomas Strickler; daughter, Sherie Lynn Sneed and husband, Don; son, Tommy Strickler and his wife, Dawn; grandchildren, Bradley Sneed, Christopher Sneed, Abby Strickler, Austin Strickler, Samuel Ervin, Sarah Darnell and Savannah Lyons; sister, Ruth Hicks and her husband, Ken; and her special aunt, Madeline Overbay.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Ervin officiating. The burial will follow in the Garden of Everlasting Life III of East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers honoring Mrs. Strickler are Tommy Strickler, Millard Kitzmiller, Jimmy Simpson, Roy Kitzmiller, Sammy Ervin, Christopher Sneed and Randy Kitzmiller. Honorary pallbearers are Tony Carter, Jim Hale and Bobby Carter.
The family would like to thank the Ervin family for their love and compassion they provided to Mrs. Strickler and her family. They would also like to say special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and her home health nurse, Paula Arnold for their love and support they provided.
