

Bettie Ruth Henley, age 76, entered into rest February 8, 2012 at Indian Path Medical Center. Born in Virginia, a daughter of the late Christopher and Winnie Frances Neeley Henley, she was a longtime resident of Kingsport. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Henley; two sisters, Loraine Poore and Pearl Neeley. Bettie was a member of Orebank Chapel Central Baptist Church, and was well known and loved in the Orebank community where she would frequently be seen walking to Brickey’s store or swinging on her front porch. She loved her family and her church beyond all else. This special lady will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her sister, Barbara Tompkins; sister-in-law, Irene Henley; numerous nieces and nephews including Lucretia Davis and her husband Rick, Janea Musick, GayeNell Long, two great-nieces, Lily and Avery Davis all of Kingsport. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Orebank Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will follow at the church at 11:00 a.m. with the Pastor Lelbert Thornburg officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.
