Betty Jane Fletcher, 69, entered into the arms of Jesus during the early morning hours of Thursday (July 26, 2018) following an extended illness. Betty was born on March 28, 1949 in Cheverly, Maryland to the late Joe & Betty (Daniels) Johnson.

Betty was a faithful member of Kingdom Way Church of God. She enjoyed yard work, birds, and collecting snowmen. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; she will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Gene Fletcher; and three brothers, Joey, Lenny, and Raymond Johnson.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Gene Fletcher & wife Billie; daughter, Debbie Beckman & husband Shannon; two sisters, Donna Sweeney & husband Harry and Dorothy Daniels; sister-in-law, Kathy Johnson; five grandchildren, Christian Fletcher, Ashley Ferrell, Bailey Ferrell, Jacob Beckman, and Alex Beckman; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday (July 30, 2018) from 5 to 7 pm in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm in the chapel with Pastor Gene Fletcher and Bro. Shannon Beckman officiating.

Betty will be laid to rest with her beloved husband on Tuesday (July 31, 2018) at 11 am in the Garden of Gethsemane at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Betty Jane Fletcher was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Betty will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
