

Billie Reeser McCracken, 70, of Church Hill, departed this life into the arms of Jesus on September 1, 2010 at his home after a brief illness.
He was retired from Holston Ammunition Plant on disability after 13 years of service and was a member of Church Hill VFW, Loyal Order of the Moose and Eagles Clubs of Kingsport.
Mr. McCracken was a wonderful and caring husband of his disabled wife Evelyn D. Shortt McCracken and a loving father of three daughters and one son deceased.
He was a life long member of McPheeter’s Bend Baptist Church and lived his entire life in his beloved community of McPheeter’s Bend.
Mr. McCracken was a farmer, raised tobacco and loved to go deep-sea fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Viola Parker McCracken, his son, Steven Andrew McCracken, his grandson, Thomas Lee Dishner, his brother Clyde Ernest (C.C.) McCracken, nephews, Stanley Housewright and Ernest McCracken, and by great nephew, Bradley Marshall.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Evelyn D. Shortt McCracken; his daughters, Malinda Fugate, Yvonne Simpson and Shelia Dishner; son-in-law, Charles L. Dishner, Jr.; sisters, Joyce Dobbs and Kathleen and Jack Taylor all of Church Hill; grandchildren, Joshua Dishner, Jessica Arrington, Jacqueline Montemarano and Sabrina Holder; great-grandchildren, Morgan McDavid and Bradley Holder, Victor Montemarano and Aaliyah Strahan.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday (September 4, 2010) at McPheeter’s Bend Baptist Church and at other hours at the residence. Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the church with Pastor Mark Roberts officiating. Special music will be provided by Rick and Janice Willis. Burial will follow graveside services at 1:30 p.m. Sunday (September 5, 2010) at McPheeter’s Bend Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Housewright, Eric Housewright, Edmond McCracken, Chad Lumpkins, Tony Roberts and Junior Stubblefield. Honorary pallbearers will Harold Patterson and Benny Brooks.
