We remember when Hobe ,as we knew him, moved back to Blountville from Florida, Rick’s Daddy and he would stand talking across the fence, usually about their days of playing baseball. We had never really known him until then but camed to love both he and Peggy through Church and family. We never saw them a lot after they moved to Kingsport but have kept them in our hearts. Hobe will be sadly missed but I know he and Peggy are rejoicing in heaven. May God ease the pain of each family member.

I will forever be grateful and feel extremely blessed for having such an incredible Papaw. I could sit for hours and listen to his stories of growing up. It never got old and I clung to every word. I always looked forward to spending as much time as possible with him and will miss our phone calls and the feeling of "going home" when I would go to visit. No matter where I went or what I did I knew I always had a safe place with him and Mamaw. I will miss him more than any amount of words can express. Until we meet again.

I had only one Papaw and he was a wonderful one. I loved visiting him and Mamaw as I became an adult and wondered more about my roots. He was a great storyteller and was always true to a story ~ didn't care much for embellishments. He loved his Tennessee roots and I enjoyed listening to him tell me all about it. I am so glad that my kids had a chance to know him. He will be missed.
