

Bobby Charles Depew, age 79 of Blountville, TN, went to celebrate in Heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. Bobby was born to the late Mr. Jessie Paul Depew and Mrs. Sarah Shehan Depew on July 17, 1936 in Kingsport, TN. Bobby married his best friend and love of his life, Ms. Louise Edwards, on October 11, 1958 and after 57 years of a loving marriage, she survives. Bobby will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He loved his church family and always placed his family’s needs above his own. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a man with a beautiful spirit and it was easy to see God’s grace working in his life. He possessed the characteristics of true integrity and strong work ethics. Bobby was proud to own and operate Quality Yard Barns in Blountville; his family brought him the greatest joy of all. Bobby was a member of Browders Chapel and served as a deacon, in which he took great pride. Bobby was a committed Christian and found joy in serving the Lord and others. He reunites in Heaven with his sweet parents; one son-in-law, Steven Barr; one daughter-in-law, Jackie Depew; two sisters, Beulah Wilson and Mary Belle Whiteman; and four brothers, Guy Depew, Jack Depew, Buddy Depew, and Billy Depew. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Louise Edwards Depew; his children, Bobby Shannon Depew, Sherry Barr Leeper and husband Ricky, Sharon Addington, Michael Paul Depew and wife Leslie, and Sharman Denise Whitfield and husband Greg; grandchildren, Jessica Thomas, Jeremy Blair, Jack Depew, Shannon Smith, Aaron Whitfield, Cortney Depew, Brittany Depew, Anna Whitfield, Vincent Addington, David Depew, and Abram Whitfield; great-grandchildren, Kate Depew, and another two, soon to be born; siblings, Sue Poore, Peggy Milhorne, Connie Fish, Brenda Depew, Cathy Smith, Patsy Scott, and Jimmy Depew; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his beloved church family. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home in Kingsport, Tennessee. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. immediately following visitation in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastors David Salley and Kyle Falin officiating. Music will be provided by Bill and Sharon Owens, Todd Potter, and the Browders Choir.Graveside service will be on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Garden of the Apostles of East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Blair, Jack Depew, Aaron Whitfield, Ricky Leeper, Greg Whitfield, and Todd Potter. Honorary pallbearers will be Vincent Addington, David Depew, and Abram Whitfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Browders Chapel, 538 Browders Chapel Road, Hilton, VA.
