He grew up in Bluff City, TN and attended Bluff City High School. In his younger years, he was involved in farming. He worked at Kingsport Press before starting his own business, Stacy Mobile Home Service.
He was a beloved husband, father, and friend. He loved cooking and took the utmost joy in making candy and giving it to people. He enjoyed woodworking, planting a garden, and fishing. He was a huge fan of Auburn Basketball and Coach Bruce Pearl. He was a great basketball player himself and was known for his great hook shot.
A devoted Christian, he belonged to Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Stacy; His five children, Randall Aaron Stacy and his wife Regina, Terry Blaine Stacy, Timothy Van Stacy and his wife Gloria Beard, Teresa Kay Nye and her husband Arling, and Tammy Sue Stacy; stepsons Bobby and Jeff Booher and his wife Sandi Booher; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bobby is also survived by many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Stacy and Ethel Black Stacy; his Beloved wife Naomi Ruth Stacy and mother to their children; brother, William Stacy; and daughter-in-law, Vickie Stacy, wife of Terry.
The family would like to thank Dee Christian who went above and beyond in taking care of Pap. He loved her and how she took care of him. The family also thanks hospice nurse Bre Allen for her professional care. A special thank you to Lisa Feathers for looking out for him, she brought him food that he absolutely loved and he called her his number one.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, 965 Ford Town Road, Kingsport, TN. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the church with Pastor Joe Trent and Pastor Terry Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
