She was born on May 14, 1949 in Steinman, VA to the late Theodore and Betty Keith. She lived in Washington DC for many years early in her career before moving back to Blountville where she resided for the last 40+ years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, working with flowers and in gardens and crocheting. Many family members received beautiful blankets that she made for them. She was a natural caregiver and loved taking care of family members, devoting time to her parents, mother-in-law and her sisters and brothers during illnesses before they passed. Her greatest joy was spending time with her precious grandchildren. She also had a passion for animals and provided a loving home to several cats and dogs.
She was preceded in death by her 10 brothers and sisters: James, Robert, Kenneth, Charles, T.C., and Mack Keith; Georgia Turner, Mary Belle Verzi, Leta Leonard and Sherri Gilreath. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Lytz.
Carrie is survived by her devoted husband, Roger Farmer, her daughters: Rachel O'Hara (Matt Wilson) and Sarah Tarnovsky (Lex); grandchildren: Ellie, Brodie and Emma. Additionally she is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Linda Keith, Martha Keith, Ken Gilreath, Wade and Marina Farmer, Donald "Dub" and Missy Farmer, Pat and Doug Hildreath, Iris and Jerry Edwards, Virginia and Greg Adamson. Special nieces: Lisa Leonard and Stephanie Rhoton and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to internal medicine, Dr. Claybrook, Blountville Drug Company and the Dairy Queen, Abingdon, Va, for treating her with lots of love.
Visitation with her family will be Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 12 noon until 2:00 PM at East Lawn Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 2:00 with Rev. Ken Osborne officiating. Burial to follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
