

Carrie Mae Myers Huffman, 94, entered into rest April 18, 2011 at Life Care Center in Johnson City. She was born September 11, 1916, to William Henry and Annie Mae Faulkner Myers, and was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County. Carrie was a homemaker, a member of First Assembly of God Church, and cooked for many events handled by the Ruritan Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Thomas Bruce Huffman, son Charlie Ray Myers, one brother, and two sisters.
Survivors include her five sons, William Bruce Huffman and wife Ilene of Kingsport, Ralph J. Huffman and wife Sue of Blountville, Norman Lee Huffman and wife Margie of Kingsport, John H. Huffman and wife Polly of Blountville, Roy Jay Huffman and wife Brenda of Kingsport, three daughters, Elsie Mae Ketron and husband Bearl of Kingsport, Phyllis Ann Woodard of Mt. Carmel, Wanda Sue Tipton of Kingsport, daughter in law, Evelyn Jane Myers, one brother, Clyde Myers of Baltimore, Maryland, one sister, Sarah Ethel White of Johnson City, Tn., twenty six grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren, and nine great- great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21st at East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Caris Hospice.
