Carson E. “Nick” Deskins, age 86, of Kingsport, entered into rest on Friday, July 12, 2013, at Emeritus Senior Living in Kingsport. Mr. Deskins was a native of Fremont, VA, and the son of the late Walter and Elizabeth Deskins. Mr. Deskins retired from Mead Paper, having worked in the color lab. He was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church, where he was a member of the HEAVEN BOUND CHOIR and was an active leader in the Royal Ambassadors. Mr. Deskins proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean War. He was an avid song writer and music lover.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Rayneer Deskins, Arthur Deskins; sisters: Marie Riddle, Iris Widner, Clara (Fleming) Richards and Dotty Lou Deskins.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Misao “Heddy” Deskins, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Deskins will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. Music will be under the direction of Allen Bowling. The family will receive friends in the chapel from 12 noon until the service hour. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
