Heddy--May God grant you His Comfort in the loss of Nick. You have been my role models since I started attending CHBC as a teenager. Throughout all the years you both have been faithful followers of our Lord and wonderful Christian examples to those of us who consistently looked up to you. I especially remember Nick being the photographer at our wedding in 1965. He was willing to do whatever anyone asked of him. We will miss him.

Heddy and family, it has been a great privilege to know you and Nick. What a fine man he was! Your story is inspirational, and I love to hear Nick sing his solo's. He will be forever missed by those who knew him. May God be with you in this difficult time.

Heddy, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. My Mother, Virginia Smith passed away this past April; she was your and Nick's neighbor at Emeritus. You were a special couple and I enjoyed visiting with you whenever I came to see Mother.
With Deepest Sympathy,

Nick has left us with so many sweet memories. As a kid, I was fascinated by his ability to play the guitar, show us fancy electronics that he'd bring back from Japan and his collection of old coins. Nick and Heddy have always made it a point to connect with and love our family -- with me and my brothers as "grandnephews" and later with my own children. Nick loved well. We pray that Christ will comfort Heddy greatly at this time of loss. Scott and Carmen Patrick

They didn't make 'em any better than Nick! One of the best guys ever I knew. He took many hours of his time with me when I was a boy helping me learn guitar picking. We sure will miss him, but right now is is right where he wanted to be and he is better off than we are--see you one if these days ol' buddy!

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my friend Nick Deskins. He and Heddy were my neighbors when they first came to Kingsport. Louise and I had the privilege of worshipping and working with Nick and Heddy at Colonial Heights Baptist Church.
My prayers go out to Heddy and family.

We were deeply saddened to hear about Nick's death. You were wonderful neighbors for 30 years and we regret that we're working in Wyoming and will not be there to personally extend our sympathy and attend Nick's funeral. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers and see you as soon as we return home.
