Cecilia Ann Blackburn King passed into glory on October 26, 2026, with her loving daughter by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Gary. Cecilia was the firstborn of Tom and Rachel Blackburn and was raised in Lynn Garden where she was a graduate of Lynn View High School class of 1966.
Cecilia worked for many years at the phone company and had many close friends there. They worked together, laughed much, and enjoyed breakfast at the bowling alley. In the later years she loved to crochet and quilt with the girls at work.
Cecilia and Gary traveled many times out west and never tired of seeing Sedona, Monument Valley, and Canyonlands. They also enjoyed traveling outside the U.S. to several countries, especially Puerto Vallarta in Mexico, where many family memories were made. She also was a homebody and enjoyed planting her flowers and delighted in the beauty of them.
Cecilia was the epitome of an animal lover, loving her Shelties, Savannah, Bella, and Blue; the many birds that visited, and feeding and caring for any stray cat that came her way.
One of her favorite past times was watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves, where one of the highlights of her life was attending the World Series in Atlanta. She also loved to shop with her husband and always was on the lookout for a good bargain. She loved Christmas and decorating with her Hallmark Ornaments.
She is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Rachel Blackburn, and her loving husband Gary O. King.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Erwin (Allen); sister, Becky Scott (Jeff); brother, Tom Blackburn Jr.; brother- in- laws, Wayne King (Vickie) and Alan Moore; sister-in-law, Tammy King; as well as several nieces and nephews.
