Daniel M. Burgess

Daniel grew up in the Orebank community and had many stories of he and his brother racing cars and fishing at local spots. He married Nellie Johnson, and they had 2 children Teresa and Tracy. They later divorced and he found his companion Rachel Lynch of 25 years. Daniel enjoyed spending his time going on camping and fishing trips with his family. Daniel worked in the Road Construction business for 47 years with APAC Concrete and retired in 2009. He was a member of Family Worship Center and rededicated his life last year. He was well loved by his co-workers, many friends & family.

Daniel is survived by his two children, Teresa (Burgess) Hendrix and Tracy E. Burgess, granddaughters - Danielle (Bart) Trimnal and Kayla (Jessie) Batista, grandsons - George W (Jessica) Lynch and Blake Burgess, eight great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Daniel was predeceased by his parents, his brother Michael Burgess, and longtime companion Racheal Lynch.

A graveside service will be held at East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Kingsport, TN at 2:00pm on Friday, March 1, 2024.
