Daniel "Dan" Stephen Collins

Dan was born on February 29, 1968, a "leap year baby" who brought unique joy to everyone who knew him.

Dan was a man dedicated to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Hicks Collins; his mother, Nida "Bunnie" Mae Hamblen Collins; his step-mother, Inez Neill Collins; and his brother, David Collins. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, James H. and Rose E. Collins, and Paul and Beulah Hamblen.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Helen Collins; his daughters, Kaycee and Samaria; and his sons, Malcolm (Melinda) & Jeremiah (Sue) and several grandchildren. He also leaves behind his cousin Phyllis, along with many other cousins and dear friends, including special friends Wayne and Lonnie.

A funeral service will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dorvin Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends 25 minutes prior to the funeral service. Interment in East Lawn Memorial Park’s Garden of Love will be private with his sons and friends serving as pallbearers.

Flowers will be appreciated or contributions may be made in Dan’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
