He was born August 24, 1949, in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late O.C. and Helen Wilson Baines. Danny was a security guard for over 50 years and was an accomplished multidisciplinary martial artist. He obtained his G.E.D. and then spent considerable time studying the Bible and received an associate’s degree and several certificates in Christian Theology. Danny was a devout Christian and long-time member of Westview Church of Christ and Arnold’s Chapel.
In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his wife of over 42 years, Linda Sue Baines and a grandson, Jacob Aiden Baines.
He is survived by his sons, Danny Joe Baines, Jr. and wife Beverly and Josh Bains and wife Amber; four grandchildren, Melissa (Joe) Huber, Becky (Austin) Ball, Aaron Baines, and Harlee Baines.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 14, 2026, from 1:00 until 1:50 P.M. at East Lawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Oscar Irvin officiating. Interment in East Lawn Memorial Park will be private.
