
Danny was an Army Veteran, serving in Na Trang as a helicopter mechanic. He had been a faithful and dedicated 30 year member of Shekinah Church where he was dubbed "Mr. Fix It" because of his love of helping with the up keep of the church. He was a tool and dye maker, working for the Armstrong Company in Rogersville, for many years before taking on the role of project planner at his home. Danny loved to develop creative and sustainable projects for gardening and energy with his sons, as well as working on their cars together.
Preceding him in death are his parents: Emil and Florence Gauthier.
Danny is survived by his wife of 49 years, Katherine "Kathy" Thompson Gauthier, whom he met while they were students at Pinecrest Bible Training Center in Salisbury, NY. Sons: Samuel Matthew Gauthier and James Daniel Gauthier. He was the oldest of nine siblings, of whom all survive: Richard, Bruce, David, Craig, Raymond (Cynthia), William (Tuy) , Eddie and Lois Gauthier. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law: William Joseph (Pat McGown) Thompson.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 31 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Shekinah Church in Blountville. A celebration of Danny's life will follow at 12:00 p.m with Rev. Barbara Jane Lambert officiating.
