I am very glad that I was given the chance to work with Dave as his welder in tank shop at Eastman. He taught me alot and also taught me leadership. He was the man that I looked up too after the passing of Dad. Dave will be missed by so many of us that had the chance to work with him, Thank you to the family for given us so many years with him. I will never forget the stories he shared and the countless hours we would spend trying to figure out so many brain questions he would tell us. Miss you my friend we will meet again.

Denise, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you still remember me. I use to come to your house with Daniel"Cajun".You are in my thoughts and prayers.

David Jackson was more than your everyday farmer to me and to anyone else who was fortunate enough to have him in their life. To me personally, David was a mentor, a friend, a father figure, someone to strive to be like, and the list never ends. The very first time I met David he changed my life dramatically. I had came to visit my father, whom I hadn’t seen in years, and he wanted us to meet. I was a young punk with earrings, an eyebrow ring, and an attitude. He commented on one trait..... he said,” John, that boy is a worker! Look at those boots!” They were worn beyond belief from laying block and brick. Later that evening, without a soul around, he slipped me 150$, told me to get some new boots, and swore me to secrecy. He didn’t do it for recognition. He did it because he knew I was a hard worker and understood the financial struggle of starting out on your own. Shortly after that, David saw to it that I moved to Kingsport to go to work at Eastman. Not only did he give me a more comfortable type life by these few good deeds, he also brought my father and I closer together than we had ever been. 13 years later we would all be working, riding around, or just hanging out at the well house together. David was as tough as a pine knot and as kind as a teddy bear. I’m not sure where I’d be without him. I will always love, respect, and be thankful to him. Things will never be the same without David. No matter what happens I will never forget ACTION JACKSON. 

Our deepest sympathies...David was a great man; always true to his word. He was our neighbor and our friend; always gracious and respectful and kind with his words, his knowledge and his things. We truly loved and respected David, a man’s man in every way; hard as a hammer, yet compassionate as a young child. We will miss David, his guidance, his sense of what is important and how he lived his life. I’ll miss the discussions and the rides through the woods, sitting at the wellhouse...learning about ‘stuff’ and how we were to accomplish ‘things’...David knew about this stuff and these things. He grew up hard but never made it an excuse, he did what he did because it was the right thing to do. David loved Jesus, and spoke about him when I would begin to worry. He would show me the picture of Jesus he carried in his wallet, always reminding me to be faithful, always proclaiming that Jesus  was our Savior. Yes, we will miss him, more than anyone will ever know. He was our friend, and so much more.
