

Born on September 13, 1951, in Riverside, New Jersey, Dawn was the daughter of Vernon George and Frances Stipick Sterling. She was a proud graduate of Burlington Township High School and Maryville College. Dawn loved reconnecting with her classmates at reunions and made a special effort to stay in touch with friends throughout her life. Dawn retired from the Maryville Housing Authority after dedicating many years of service to the community. She was also a devoted member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. In her spare time, she actively supported numerous organizations, including The Nature Conservancy, the World Wildlife Fund, the ASPCA, and Zoo Knoxville. Dawn had a lifelong love for all of God’s creatures and found great joy in caring for them. Above all else, Dawn’s greatest joy was her family. She will be remembered as one of the most loving, kind, and generous people to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved husband of 43 years, Peter Muse Isenberg.
Dawn is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Swanson, and husband, Ryan, of Texas; granddaughter, Sloane Swanson; and brothers, Vance and Bruce Sterling. She is also cherished by many extended family members and friends who loved her deeply.
Inurnment will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held in December.
