Dexter Goddard, 74, of Blountville, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Signature Health Care of Greenville. Dexter was born to the late Joseph Elmer and Virgie Mae (Rutledge) Goddard in Kingsport on February 20, 1946. He was of the Christian Faith.
Dexter proudly served his Country in the United States Army. He served in the Army Reserve National Guard until March of 1991. Dexter retired from the Kingsport Press after years of dedicated service. He loved taking his family to the movies, old cars, and football.
In addition to his parents Dexter was preceded in death by his grandson, Daniel Goddard; brother, Sidney Goddard; and step-mother, Margaret Goddard.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; sons, Robert Goddard and wife Anita, Joseph Goddard and wife Bobbie; grandchildren, Charles, Thomas, and Anna Goddard; sister, Jennifer Goddard; and special aunt, Martha Allen.
