Diana met her future husband, Joe, in Tampa, Florida when she was 15 years old. They quickly began playing and singing music together and eventually married many years later, raising a son and a daughter in the Tampa Bay area. Their life was built around church and music, but Diana also worked over 30 years as an office and accounts manager in engineering and development companies. She loved her family and poured into them through her cooking, quilting, and fun loving spirit. Diana was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Tom DeBord. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joe Kidwell; son, Paul David Kidwell and wife Debra; daughter, Jodi Lynn Kidwell Shelton and husband Joe; seven grandchildren, Faith Thomas and husband Matt, Joe Shelton III, Jeremiah Kidwell and wife Rebecca, Jacob Kidwell and wife Laurissa, Emily Kidwell, Ethan Kidwell, and Levi Kidwell; two great grandchildren, Nolan and Ashton Thomas; one brother, Joe DeBord; and many loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home Memorial Blvd Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Tim Price officiating. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Veterans Memorial Park in Johnson City.
Jeremiah Kidwell, Joe Shelton III, Jacob Kidwell, Ethan Kidwell, Levi Kidwell, Matt Thomas, Paul Kidwell, and Joe Shelton II will be serving as pallbearers.
