Donna Joyce Hardy, 72, of Kingsport, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, after a lengthy illness. She was born to the late Cecil and Imogene Goad in Radford, Virginia.

Donna was a strong independent lady. She retired from Eastman Chemical Company after over 30 years of dedicated service. Donna loved her cats and enjoyed reading in her free time.

In addition to her parents Donna was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Mayes.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Dale Hardy; grandchildren, Paris Smith, Kasey and Justin Mays; great-grandchildren, Kiley, Amelia, and Triston Rogers; sisters, Bernice Brown and husband Melvin, Linda Midget, Susanne Patton and husband Eric. The Hardy family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Monday, April 12, 2021 in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home from 2:00pm-4:00pm. A Celebration of Donna’s Life will follow at 4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers the Hardy family has requested that donations be made in Donna’s memory to The Animal Shelter of Sullivan County, 380 Masengill Rd., Blountville, TN 37617.

So sorry to hear of Donna’s passing, just found out today, April 9th so missed the funeral. She was a special lady at Eastman over her many yrs of service, always smiling and getting the job done. She is one of those special people in your life that you never forget. My prayers to the family of such a wonderful lady and friend!
