Dorothy Juanita McMurray

Dorothy Juanita Atkins McMurray, 91, left this life on Sunday, August 2, 2015. She was born on February 27, 1924 to the late Hettie and William Atkins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Everett Smith; second husband, Oscar McMurray; parents, William and Hettie Atkins; sisters, Wanda Faye Atkins, Ruby Clifton, Barbara Moore and Mary Ketterman; and brothers, James Atkins, Charles Atkins and Billy Atkins. She is survived by her brother, Paul Atkins; sisters, Lola Ray, Delores Darnell and Phyllis Norris; and several nieces and nephews. Juanita was of the Jehovah Witness faith and will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff of Brookhaven Manor for their care of Mrs. McMurray. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, August 4, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her brother, Paul. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport, Tennessee.
