

Mr. Ellis “Nick” Rhoton, age 88, of Blountville, TN, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday June 24, 2014 in a local healthcare center following several monthsof declining health. Mr. Rhoton was born on March 18, 1926 in Scott County, VA, the son of the late Mesby and Nannie Southers Rhoton. He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army. Following World War II, he and his brother “Dock” owned and operated “Nick & Dock’s Barber Shop” where he cut hair for over 50 years, located in Blountville. He was married to the former Lorene Arnold who survives. He was a member of the Bethel View Baptist Church of Bristol. Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Mrs. Lorene A. Rhoton. Four sons, Paul, Donald, Dennis and Ronnie Rhoton. One daughter, Brenda Hickman. One brother, “Dock” Rhoton. One sister, Shirley Taylor. Seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren along with nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Rhoton will be conducted on Saturday June 28, 2014 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Leighton Roberts and Rev. Charles Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Hope of East Lawn Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 noon p.m. until the service hour at the funeral hour. East Lawn Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
