Fannie Shell Collier

Fannie Elizabeth Shell Collier, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Born in Wise, VA on April 8, 1922, she lived in the Grassy Creek community until moving to Kingsport in 1953. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Fannie is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Doyle Collier, Sr., by her parents Jasper and Mary Shell of Wise, VA, brother Raymond Shell of Wise, VA and sister Georgia Cooper of Encinitas CA. She was a longtime-time member of Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church and loved her church and her church family. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Johnny Wright of Fall Branch, TN, her sons and daughters-in-law Ronald and Louise Collier of Church Hill, TN, Harold and Cindy Collier of Mansfield, TX, Kenneth and Ginger Collier of Haughton, LA, Doyle Collier of Church Hill, TN, and Gary and Lorie Collier of Kingsport, TN; sister, Roxie and husband Cletus Hubbard; brothers, Bruce Shell, Henry and wife Beulah Shell and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ken Collier officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 13th, at Church Hill Memory Gardens, 208 E Lane Street, Church Hill. Those wishing to attend the burial service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 am.
