Gary Randall Taylor

Gary Randall Taylor (aged 73) of Kingsport, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on April 30th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family after a brief battle with cancer. Gary was a graduate of Dobyns Bennett High School Class of 1969 and attended East Tennessee State University graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology. During his High School and College years, Gary was a member of the Carousel Band. Upon graduation from ETSU, Gary began working for Eastman where he dedicated 45 years of his life and met the love of his life, Linne McConnell Taylor. Gary and Linne married in 1979 and soon welcomed two daughters into their loving home. Throughout his life he shared God’s love and ministered with the gospel group Pleasant News for 25 years; and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Gary loved music, making people laugh, sharing the word of God, eating delicious food, and watching his grandchildren play. Gary is preceded in death by his Father James Taylor Jr, Mother Lois Taylor, and Brother-in-Law Don Robinson. Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his caring and loving wife of 46 years, Linne, his daughter Whitney and granddaughter Rylie Shelton, his daughter Mallory and husband Andrew Allen, grandson Hudson, granddaughter Millie, and grandson Turner, sister Wanda Robinson, nephew Brent Robinson, nephew Kevin Robinson and his wife Rachel Robinson, in-laws Faye and Jim McConnell, and brother-in-law Al McConnell.

A graveside service for Gary will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 1:00 PM at East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, Tennessee 37664.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners' Hospital for Children in Gary’s memory.
