She was preceded in death by her son Brian Calloway, her parents Goldie and Carmel Crowe, one sister, Maye Crowe and two brothers, Carl Crowe and Maynard Crowe.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Joel Calloway, daughter Vickie Mitchell, granddaughter Lyndsey Mitchell, grandson Jeremy Lisic and wife Samantha, two great granddaughters Ava Jade Cacchillo and Nora Rose Cacchillo, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Rhea was a very devoted wife, mother, neighbor and friend who dearly loved little children. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1961 where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and served on several committees including the flower committee.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Amedisys Hospice team, especially Nurse Dashae, and CNA Ashley.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm with a funeral service following at East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, Tennessee 37664. Rhea will be laid to rest on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
Flowers or a donation to Rhea’s favorites charities, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Operation Smile in her memory.
