Grover C. "Red" Cox Jr.

Grover C.”Red” Cox Jr., 83 of Kingsport, TN stepped into Heaven Tuesday September 27, 2011 at his home. Mr. Cox was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. He was a retired employee of Slip Not Belting Corp. after 39 years of service. Mr. Cox was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church Glenwood Campus.

He was preceded in death by his parents Grover C. Cox Sr. and Ida Mae (Carroll) Cox ; his wife Kate (Faulk) Cox , one brother Woodrow Wilson Cox; two sisters Anna Bailey and Pauline Ward.

Survivors include two daughters Sandra Archer and husband Gary Jonesborough, TN.; Teresa Gray and husband Steve Kingsport, TN.; one brother Charles Cox and wife Wilma Kingsport, TN ; grandchildren Brian Archer and wife Jennifer, Angela Jobe, Misty “Mia” Naumann and husband Jurgen and Ashley Gray; Greatgrandchildren Logan Archer, Austin Jobe , Nicholas Archer, Madison Coleman, Kaylee Jobe and Jackson Archer; several nieces and nephews. Special care givers IR-Wauna Kyle Harris and JiMeecia Kyle.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday September 29, 2011 at East Lawn Funeral Home with Funeral Service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev.Tiger Brooks and Dr. David Phillips officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday September 30, 2011 in East Lawn Memorial Park .
