

Harold Gibson Patton, 87, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 26, 2025. Harold was born November 3, 1937, in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late Theodore and Atha Trent Patton. Harold was a proud veteran of the United States Army. After retirement from Cardinal Glass, Harold spent much of his free time playing golf, fishing, and going on camping trips with Kazel. He was a longtime member of Barton’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was a loving family man who will be missed dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Sandra Shortt; sister, Georgia Patton Wright; and brother, Sonny Patton.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Kazel Patton; daughter, Rebecca Kempton and husband Robin; stepdaughter, Sharon Young and husband Mark; special friend and bonus family member, Chad Dowell; six grandchildren, Timothy Webster, Jr. and wife Stefanie, Tyler Kempton, Tonya Reed, Derek Shortt, Jena Hutson and husband Jeremy, Makala Smith and husband Levi; five great-grandchildren, Carsten Hutson, Hadley Hutson, Aria Smith, Garet Myers and Brianna Shortt. Harold is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Harold’s life will be held on his birthday, Monday, November 3, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. in the East Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor J.E. Mauk officiating. Entombment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Harold’s honor to St. Jude Children’s
Hospital or to any local charity that benefits children in need.
