Hazel Lee (Adams) Osborne, age 103, passed away on Wednesday (August 14, 2019) peacefully in her sleep at home. She was born on May 5, 1916 in to the late Matt & Cecilia Adams in Harlan, KY and moved to Kingsport at the age of 6.
Hazel was employed at Bordon Mills for 47 years until her retirement. She was married to a fellow employee, Clyde Osborne for 60 years until his death in 1996. Clyde had three children from a previous marriage that he and Hazel raised together. They had one son of their own, Eugene, who passed away on August 21, 2017.
Hazel was a Charter Member of Women of Moose for over 50 years. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and made many crafts throughout the years until her health prevented her from doing these activities.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law, Patsy Osborne; sister, Agnes Williams of Morganton, NC; grandsons, Todd & wife Teresa of Kingsport, TN and Dr. Derek & wife Lynn of Knoxville, TN; step-grandsons, Chris Horton of Church Hill, TN and Mitch Horton & wife Sonia of Sneedville, TN; special step-granddaughter, Debbie Smith of Palmetto, FL; great-grandchildren, J.T. & wife Danielle of Jonesborough, TN, Jordan & wife Madison of Church Hill, TN, Juliann Allen & husband Nehimiah of Knoxville, TN, and Kane Ross & husband Michael of Knoxille, TN; great great-grandchildren; Brooklyn, Cambrie, and Zayne; several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday (August 18, 2019) from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the chapel at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel with Mike Cornett officiating. Hazel will be entombed with her beloved husband on Sunday (August 18, 2019) at 2 p.m. in Mausoleum II at East Lawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for all the meals prepared and kindness shown by special friend, Shirley Stadvec; to Home Instead Caregiver, Yvonne Hampton; close friend, Mildred Anderson for calling and visiting Hazel each day throughout the years.
