

Helen McCann Ball, 84, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at the Wexford House. She was born on October 20, 1930 in Kingsport, Tennessee, the daughter of the late James McCann and Sarah Roberts McCann. Mrs. Ball was a housewife, loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ball was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Charlie Alexander Ball on March 20, 2007; three brothers, Rev. Henry McCann, James McCann “Little Jim” and Rev. Frank McCann; five sisters, Della McGaha, Rose Prillhart, Mabel Robinson, Elizabeth “Toots” Allen and Willie Ball; one special niece, Jean Green.
Survivors include three sons, Charlie Ball, Jr. and wife Barbara, Rev. Mark Ball and wife Faye, and Leonard Ball and wife Toni; one daughter, Shirley Birch and husband Don; eight grandchildren, special grandson, Scott Ball and wife Anissa, Renae Coleman, Brian Birch, Matthew Birch, Joshua Ball, Rachel Hall, David Ball and Daniel Ball; one step grandson, Aaron Hall and wife Nichelle; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Pauline Ball; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral Service for Mrs. Helen McCann Ball will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 7:00pm in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with her son Rev. Mark Ball officiating. Graveside Service will be held Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 10:00am in the Garden of Apostles at East Lawn Memorial Park.
