Helen Sue Cross

With heavy hearts, we share the news of Helen Sue Cross’s passing on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Dominion Senior Living in Bristol, Tennessee at the age of 84. She lived most of her life in Blountville, TN. She was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church.

Helen was a vibrant woman who found joy in helping others, gardening, sewing, and spending time with those she loved. She was more than just a mother, sister, aunt. She was a confidant, a best friend, and a source of endless support. We will forever cherish the memories we created together. She will be deeply missed.

She was born in Jonesville, Virginia, to Shirley and Martha Collins. After her father’s death, the family moved to Bristol, VA. She is preceded in death by her mother Martha (Tiny) Mullins.

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Charles of Johnson City, TN, and her son Jerald (Adrienne) Cross of Bristol, TN. She is also survived by her grandchildren Hayden Charles of Knoxville, TN, Jude Cross and Ian Cross of Bristol, TN. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Martin, of Blountville, TN. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, Teresa A Martin and Melissa (Scott) Shelton of Kingsport, TN, and Freddy (Carol) Martin of Blountville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, the Cross family has requested donations be made in Helen’s memory to the Blessed Hope Baptist Church, Youth Fund, 334 Holden Dr., Kingsport, TN 37663 | (423) 239-6773.

A visitation for Helen will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 at 12:00 PM at East Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, Tennessee 37664. A funeral service will occur Friday, July 11, 2025 at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will occur Friday, July 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
