

James Paul “Boze” Darnell, 76, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014, at the Holston Valley Medical Center. Mr. Darnell was born on March 7, 1938 in Scott County, Virginia the son of the late Walter Delaney Darnell and Lola Mae McMurray Darnell. He was a member of Holly Springs United Methodist. Mr. Darnell along with his wife ran a real estate and construction company for several years as a contractor and a developer in the Tri-Cities area. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Lois Ann Darnell; one son, Greg Darnell and one sister, June Fogleman.
Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Wood; mother-in-law, Rosella Bowen; one daughter-in-law, Alisa Darnell; one brother-in-law, Donnie Bowen; three grandchildren, McKenzie Darnell, Tanner Wood and Hunter Wood; two brothers, Jack Darnell and wife Betty and Bill Darnell and wife Sue; two sisters, Janette Fortner and Joyce Ketron; special friend, Bobbie Manning; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friend’s Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm in the Holly Springs United Methodist Church, 5568 Bloomingdale Road, Blountville, TN. Funeral Services for Mr. James Paul “Boze” Darnell will be held Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 3:00pm in the Holly Springs United Methodist Church with Reverend Grover Starnes officiating. Entombment will follow in Mausoleum II at East Lawn Memorial Park. The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. David Osterhus and staff, Wellmont Radiation and Hospice for all their wonderful care given to Mr. Darnell.
