James L. Waterman, age 80, of Kingsport, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Waterman was a native of Sullivan County and the son of the late Earl and Sudie Waterman. He ran Waterman’s Gas and Grocery Store for 42 years. Mr. Waterman was of the Baptist faith. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Survivors include his wife of almost 55 years, Violet Waterman, a son, Todd Waterman and wife Becky; brothers: Gordon Waterman and Bud Waterman; five grandchildren: Brett Flora, Katie Flora, Anna Flora, Adam Flora and Blake Waterman, along with several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service for Mr. Waterman will be conducted on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in East Lawn Memorial Park with Chaplin Mike Pelham, officiating. Honorary pallbearers are David Waterman, Tony Grizzle, Randall Shelton and Joe Blakley.
The family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice and to the other wonderful caregivers of Mr. Waterman.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Amedisys Hospice, 200 Professional Park Drive, Kingsport, Tennessee, 37660.
