Jane A. Reid

Jane Allen Reid, 93, died December 23, 2016. She was the third of five children born to Frank H. and Ethel Allen of Bristol, TN. She graduated from Tennessee High School and continued her studies at Virginia Intermont College.

Mrs. Reid lived throughout the Eastern United States with her Husband, Walter J. Reid, who was a buyer for the F. W. Woolworth Company. Their many work locations also included several years in Tokyo, Japan. Jane was employed by the Veterans Administration and other agencies depending on their location.

Before moving to assisted living in Kingsport, Jane was a resident of Elizabethton, TN. Jane maintained a home in Boynton Beach, FL where she visited several months a year as long as she was able.

Preceding Mrs. Reid in death were her parents, husband, and sisters Mary Allen Rotenberry and Nancy Allen Woodward, both of Kingsport. Remaining with fond memories are her sister Frances Allen of Kingsport, TN and brother Ben Allen of Big Stone Gap, VA, several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 pm, following the visitation with Reverend Amy Probst officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Apostles.
