Janeice George was born on January 28, 1954 in Hattiesburg, MS, and with her family by her side, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday (February 13, 2019) after a heroic battle with myelofibrosis.
Janeice was a creative woman of many talents who never finished high school, but earned a master’s degree in mathematics, could sew anything, and enjoyed traveling with family to places near and far. She was a retired math and chemistry teacher from Sullivan County and received a state teacher of the year Award in Mississippi.
Janeice was preceded by the passing of her father, JW Moore; son, Casey Payne; granddaughter, Jada Pickering; and brother, Jeffrey Moore.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Scott George of Kingsport; two daughters, Tiffany Pickering (Jonathan) of Johnson City and Lucy Anderson (Ben) of Kingsport; two sons, Craig Payne (Cherie) of Fall Branch and Wyatt George of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Kaylee Pickering, Joel Payne and Bella Pickering; her mother, Barbara Moore of Moselle, MS; brother, Wesley Moore (Kowana) of Moselle, MS; nephew, Katlin Moore; two nieces, Hope Moore and Tammy Nisbet; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday (February 16, 2019) from 3 to 5 p.m. at Living Word Lutheran Church (5210 N Roan Street Johnson City, TN 37615). A Celebration of Life Service will follow with Pastor Andrew Stuebs officiating.
Janeice will be laid to rest following a visitation (9 to 11 a.m.) at Jones & Son Funeral Home (18 Moselle-Seminary Rd. Moselle, MS 39459) Monday (February 18, 2019) at 11 a.m. at Callahan Family Cemetery (Moselle, MS).
