Jerome Luther Kern, 48, of Kingsport, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born on July 27, 1966 in Kingsport, he was the son of Cora Mina Cox and the late Paul Vernon Kern. Jerome was an avid Motor Sports enthusiast who loved and cherished his beloved companions, Thor and Simba. In addition to his father, Paul Vernon Kern, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Katherine Vines. He is survived by his mom, Cora Mina Cox; sister, Tammy Browning (Hillard); brothers, Michael E. Kern and Jonathan Cox (Torrie); and nieces and nephews, Marganna, Kathryn, Josh, Benjamin, Hunter, Seth and Aidan. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, April 29, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015 in the Garden of Prayer of East Lawn Memorial Park, officiated by Pastor Darrell G. Hyder.
