

Jerry Wayne “Coon” Epps, age 65 of Kingsport, loving father, brother, uncle and grandpa, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. He was born on August 6, 1946 and was a life long resident of Kingsport. He worked in construction all of his life. He was also a carpenter and a mason by trade. He loved motorcycles. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Abe and Ruth Epps and a half brother, Robert Phillips.
Survivors include his daughter, Pinkie Shaffer and her husband Mike; a son, Ernie Robinnette; a brother, Perley Epps and his wife Phyllis; sister, Minnie Manis and her husband Jim; grandchildren: Halie Shaffer and Taylor Robinnette; nieces: Tamara Christian, Myra Gray, Beth Keys, Tina Jeffers and Linda Grandby; a nephew, James Phillips and his loving dog, Stormy.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2012. A Celebration of Life Service for Jerry Wayne “Coon” Epps will be conducted on March 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Keys officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mike Shaffer, Terry Jeffers, Rocky Jeffers, Brian Gray, Dustin Sutherland, Mark Christian, Jacob Roberts, Abarham Roberts and Preston Jeffers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tamara Christian, Beth Keys, Myra Gray and Tina Jeffers.
