Jessica Kayla Bowery

Jessica K. Bowery, age 25, received her angel wings on May 31, 2012. Born in Knoxville, a daughter to James Michael and Angela Rayna Moody Bowery, she had resided in Kingsport all her life. Jessica was a 2006 graduate of Central High School and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She was the special greeter at Jessica’s Hooks, Powder and Bows. She had an amazing sense of humor, and loved hunting, fishing, riding horses and anything that had to do with the outdoors. Jessica loved her family, spending time with friends and her special boyfriends. In her free time she enjoyed using her I-Pad and listening to all types of music and singing along. Jessica was preceded in death by her twin; maternal grandfather, Howard Moody, Jr. paternal grandparents, Claude and Esther Bowery. She is survived by her parents, Mike and Rayna Bowery; two brothers, Jacob Bowery of Gate City and his fiancée Nichole Pendleton ; Seth Bowery of Paducah, Ky., and his fiancée of Marissa Cavins; maternal grandmother, Peggy Moody; special aunt and personal shopper, Kay Moody Thomas; special uncles, Jim Thomas and Michael Moody; along with several other aunts and uncles. And niece, Rylee Bowery and two nephews, Tarius Haynes and Braeden Bowery whom she loved very much. The family will receive friends today, Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wayne Baker and Rev. Bob Ferguson officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Bowery, Seth Bowery, Phillip (PR) Williams, Tim Bledsoe, M.J. McCarty, Mark McCarty, Adam Carty, Dan Calton; honorary pallbearers will be all of Jessica's other boyfriends. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Ronald McDonald House. The family would like to send a special thank you to the Indian Path Medical Center 4th floor Nurses and Staff and the ICU Nurses and Staff; St. Jude’s Doctor’s and Staff; Dr. Donald Lewis and Dr. “Trey” Robertson for the love and care they gave to Jessica.
