He was born August 20, 1936, in Jellico, Tennessee, to the late Brownlow and Gladys Garrett Branam. John had a long career with Kingsport Press Printing and Sales After he retired, John devoted more time to his golf game and took pride in having a maintained lawn. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Branam.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Joyce Branam; daughters, Vickie (Steve) Hart and Tina Kihara; sisters, Marcella (Mike) Stockton and Jennie (Bill) Sharp; sister-in-law, Brenda Branam; grandchildren, Tyler (Heather) Hart, Travis (Caitlin) Hart, and Hannah (Will) Cofield; great-grandchildren, Zac, Eli, Sadie Jo, Lainey Belle, Ryann, and Renlee. John is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Grace Christian Church in Kingsport with Pastor Phip Sams and Pastor Ed Clevinger officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in John’s memory be made to a charity of your choice.
